Fantastic Book!
Studying combinations has been my thrill since I began playing chess. This book is perfect and neatly organized for my growth.

Great book, recommended by GM Kraai
Great book. Somewhat advanced, but me and my daughter enjoyed solving good puzzle there. Also, one might thing that there are lots of puzzles online for free, but your thoughts are much deeper when you solve those puzzles in the printed form.

Fun with chess without actually playing a game
This much revised and enlarged encyclopedia is a compilation of critical points in actual games which a player might entertain his- or herself almost endlessly. Divided into categories of tactics and difficulty you can seek out the area you prefer. The later editions usually have 3000+ positions and solutions with variations if significant. Also an index of players if you want to see how one of your favorites did with something and an index of openings involved

Must-have for the improving player
A must-have for any player rated over 1500 USCF. There are roughly 3200 puzzles organized by theme -- clearance, double attack, deflection, annihilation of defence, etc. The difference between the 6th edition (this one) and the 5th is that some of the older puzzles have been replaced by puzzles from more contemporary games. I preferred the 5th edition but perhaps that's just me. The book is now out in paperback.
