Orbit 57946 B-hyve 6-Zone Smart Indoor/Outdoor Sprinkler Controller

Excellent, very easy to program, Wifi and Alexa-enabled sprinkler controller. Hired electrician to install it professionally for $200 (see photo). Can set up and save multiple programs. Handles up to 6 zones and A,B, C & D schedules. Can water multiple times per day on each schedule for different lenths of time. Can set it up to delay or skip waterings based on local rain activity from a weather app (not particularly useful in AZ, where it only rains 3-5 times per year). I really like that you can easily start/stop sprinkler zones manually from the iPhone app (B-Hyve) or by asking Alexa. This is particularly useful when troubleshooting are repairing sprinkler heads or drippers; completely eliminates need to run all the way around the house to get to the sprinkler controller.

This control panel is wonderful. Download the app, follow the easy directions. Transfer your zone wires from your old system to this one. Plug it in and test your zones. I love this thing. It monitors the weather and skips irrigation if rain is predicted. You set the percentage of likelihood of precipitation ( I set mine at 60%). Can control and monitor the system from anywhere you have phone service and internet

Fantastic irrigation timer. So easy to program, but still packed with useful features. I upgraded from my rain Bird pro timer, and this one is so much more intuitive to program, especially setting up multiple programs from the app instead of standing in the garage and having to pull out a manual to try and reprogram . The app is so well thought out, intuitive, and handy to have. Now when I adjust my sprinkler heads or replace one I don't have to walk back and forth to the timer to turn zones on and off, I just do it with my phone in my hand. Makes it so easy to replace broken sprinkler heads, or make adjustments. The weather adjustment features in the app are So well thought out and advanced. I set it up to monitor local weather, and it won't run the program if it's too windy, and I get to set the wind speed. The app can also monitor the chance of rainfall to delay the program, or delay the program if the temperature falls below a temperature I set. Besides the ability to rename the zones in the app which makes it easier to remember where each zone is, I also change the picture so I can Make each zone a photo of the actual area with the sprinkler heads going so I can see exactly where the heads are for that zone.

I'm sure others are reading review for this Sprinkler controller, and I'm sure you were concerned as well as I before purchasing this product. The price is irresistible compared to many others. I don't know how the smart watering is going to work at this time I will update later. But here is my experienceSetup was easy, transferring the wires from one controller to the other could've been simpler. Adding the rain sensor though from my old unit needed to look it up on the web as there was no instructions in the booklet without going online to confirm wiring though a simple.The basic functionality of the android app is good, I'm not gonna say it's great it did crash on me a couple of times in certain areas of the app itself. Like when you're setting up smart watering and you click other details or advanced it will crash the app every time. But once installed I did all my set up through the app itself. It's simple easy I love the fact that you can take pictures and assign them to the zones that you set up.Setting up the Wi-Fi it was typical start the app on your phone set the control unit to off to start pairing, do a search on your phone's Wi-Fi for the control unit itself connect. And once it's connected it will start the pairing process to your Wi-Fi network. My Wi-Fi network is very strong throughout the house maybe that's why I haven't had the issues others have.Setting up the program for me was relatively easy for watering, as a water on every other day so I set it for even days. Also makes it very nice when testing the sprinkler system to be able to turn it on from your phone while cleaning off sprinkler headsDefinitely worth the money so far, I will update later to tell you how smart watering has workedJuly 1 2016I will have to admit the app does have some bugs, if you test a Zone and turn off the app or the screen locks it will forget that zone is in testing easy enough to get around by simply turning off the zone and turning on anotherI do have a rain sensor hooked up, and we had some rain and I've looked up the local watering suggestions and smart watering seems to be right on the money. It's watering about every 3 days or so.As I've stated earlier the app is not the greatest it does have some bugs and something that can easily be fixed by orbit. I will update more later as time goes on. My hope is others refined the review helpful. I do have to say after the first couple of days I don't know who would be really looking at and playing with the app anymore that has already been done by me. Come on orbit work The Kinks out of your app and you have a great product7-11-2016 updateI have to say so far so good, I'm already seeing a water savings compared to my old manual system with rain sensor. No update on the software front though it's only been a couple of weeks. No issues other than the ones above with a little bit of a buggy software. But after that I'm only looking to see when it's going to water next. I think I mentioned it above when pairing the device to your Wi-Fi network make sure you get a good signal use something like your phone Wi-Fi to confirm you get a good signal then you should have no problems

Great reliable irrigation controller. I purchased in spring of 2020 and has been working well ever since for lawn, garden and greenhouse. 2 friends liked my system and also ordered this unit.Setup was easy. Software is a little "unrefined" but works well. If accessing via PC, manual watering function is not available or the zone test feature. They are available via phone app. All my setup was done using my PC and phone. I have not tried any programming from the controller key pad.There are only 3 programs that can be set up and assigned to any of the zones and there is a limited number of start times that can be set in each program. This is limiting if planting new grass in warm/hot weather when short watering every 2 hours is required while seed is germinating. Workaround was to set alarms in my phone and water manually from my phone.Summary: Great reasonably priced controller.
